And yet another reason that I hate organized religion.

…Or at least the western Christian denominations; I can’t say I know enough about others to form a legit opinion. 

Maybe it’s just me, but shouldn’t people close to you (friends, family) be priority over something we’re not even sure exists? I understand that your beliefs are pretty, ya know, important and defining for a person, but the here-and-now relationships shouldn’t be sacrificed (at least by much). Your family’s once-in-a-lifetime occasion versus a once-a-year ritual? I thought the choice was kind of obvious.

I mean, I’m not saying my beliefs can beat up your beliefs, but I just thought that the Christian God was fairly forgiving and would have been totally cool with you skipping a sermon or two for, say, your grandmother in the hospital? He’s a nice guy I hear. 

And if He’s not, then why the hell are you giving up your Sundays for Him?
